Ryan Schott, OD
Though Dr. Ryan Schott was born in Winter Park, FL, he spent his childhood abroad due to his parent’s role in the US Air Force. Dr. Schott graduated from Florida State University in 2007 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. During this time he served proudly in Florida Air National Guard as a Structural Apprentice with the 125th FW in Jacksonville, FL. He graduated from Nova Southeastern College of Optometry in 2011 while receiving the VOLK Excellence in Ocular Disease Award along with the Essilor Excellence in Dispensing of Ophthalmic Materials Award. He completed a residency focusing on primary care and ocular disease at the Orlando Veterans Affairs Medical Center from 2011-2012. He has trained extensively in monitoring and treating diseases such as dry eye syndrome, glaucoma, macular degeneration, and diabetic retinopathy. Dr. Schott is currently a member of the American Optometric Association and the Central Florida Optometric Society. He has lectured in the optometric community also participates as an investigator in FDA clinical contact lens investigations. He enjoys spending time with his wife, children, and extended family in Orlando. He actively participates in the Maitland Rotary Club, which has served the local community for many years. He also volunteers on a regular basis at the Lion's club and Shepherd's hope clinics. |
Brad S. Giedd, O.D., F.A.A.O.
Dr. Brad Giedd is a Board Certified Optometric Physician. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Central Florida, graduating Summa Cum Laude. After deciding on a career change, he attended the Nova Southeastern University of College of Optometry where he gained specialty training in ocular pathology at the world-renowned Bascom Palmer Eye Institute at the University of Miami School of Medicine and at the West Palm Beach VA Hospital. Dr. Giedd was awarded his Doctor of Optometry degree from NSU College of Optometry, achieving the honor of class Valedictorian. Desiring more specialty training, he completed an Advanced Practice Fellowship in Cornea and Contact Lenses and earned a Master’s Degree in Physiological Optics from The Ohio State University College of Optometry. Dr. Giedd has established a specialty contact lens and clinical research practice that focuses on new contact lens materials and designs. Dr. Giedd is a current Trustee and Past President of the Central Florida Society of Optometric Physicians, a member of the Florida Optometric Association, and a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry. Dr. Giedd serves on the Board of Directors of the Altamonte Springs Rotary Club and is active in his church, Annunciation Catholic Church in Altamonte Springs. With three very active school-aged children, Dr. Giedd and his wife Kerry enjoy travelling and spending their limited leisure time at the beach. |
